Do you have a card that has deep sentimental value?
When you send a card, you send something very special to celebrate a special occasion and if you’re like me, you file all the special cards away as reminders of those time when lovely or sometimes very sad things happen and your friends and family celebrate or support you through happy or difficult times.
I was recently sorting through boxes after moving house and came across a card my parents sent me 25 years ago to celebrate the arrival of my new baby daughter – their first grandchild.
I came across the card and read it, it was signed from my mum and dad. Strangely, when I turned it over it was a Cherry Orchard one!” Little did I realise that all these years later I’d actually be working at Cherry Orchard.
My dad always bought his cards from his friend George – they were at school together so they’re very long-standing friends. When I showed him the card, he told me to take it into George and see if he could remember it – and he did!”
The card has the original Cherry Orchard logo stamped on the back and has been signed lovingly by Grandma and Grandad. My daughter is all grown up now and making her way in life and Grandma is sadly no longer around to share the story, but I kept the card all these years and shared the joy of finding it with Jackie Collins, the owner and co-founder of Cherry Orchard who said “it shows just how much sentiment a greeting card can have.”
